2020 LES 8th Graders' School Choice Ceremony

On Wednesday, January 29th, LaPlace Elementary 8th graders gathered for a National School Choice Week (NSCW) ceremony. The teachers, administration, and counselor recognized the 8th grade students as they prepare to transition to high school. The guest speaker, Claris Smith, an attorney from New Orleans, spoke to the students about making good choices, overcoming adversity in high school, and goal setting for college. Students were awarded NSCW stoles to celebrate the fact that the students and their parents have completed their first Individual Graduation Plans to help schedule high school classes and recognize the Carnegie Credits that they have already earned at LaPlace Elementary. Please visit our website to view more pictures from the ceremony. Select "About Us" than the Photo Album to view.
